My new favorite place to unwind is Lebanon Hills Park in Eagan, Minnesota.  It’s a huge system of trails and ponds… very peaceful and beautiful.  I recently spent an afternoon there on a “Photography Expedition”.

Here’s some of what I ended up with…

Our roommate and her boyfriend recently acquired a baby beagle named “Macie”.  She is one little bundle of energy and cuteness… and trouble.  (But the cuteness makes up for it!)

Here are some of their “New Puppy” photos…

A few weeks ago I got a very exciting phone call from the marketing director at the Animal Humane Society.  She was calling to let me know that a photo of mine was chosen to be used as the cover of the Winter 2009/10 issue of “Animal Tracks”… the Animal Humane Society Magazine!  She also asked me to photograph a few of the animals at the shelter, as well as a little girl that was to be featured in the magazine.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a release to post photos of the young girl, but here are a few of my favorites of the other “kids”.

The endless population of homeless pets…

And here is the “Animal Tracks” magazine cover…

Thank you to Trippy Grove (the beautiful Golden Retriever)!

Gabby

24Nov09

Nate and I are convinced that we have the coolest cat around.  She can open and close doors, drinks out of the faucet, enjoys baths, and comes when you call her.  Plus, she makes a darn good foot warmer in the middle of the night!

We love you Gabby!

This past summer I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph Brad & Michelle on their wedding day.  Nate & I had so much fun with these two!  Michelle is SO photogenic and radiantly beautiful!  The ceremony took place at the Old English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Wisconsin and the reception followed at the T-Bar just outside of town.

Thank you Brad & Michelle for letting us be a part of your day!

Here are a few of our favorites from the day…

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Westberg!

Anyone who knows anything about me, knows that I love animals and that pets are my favorite photography subject.  Well, I tell you what, I struck gold last November when I was hired by Now Boarding!

Now Boarding is a premier pet boarding facility located on the airport property in Minneapolis.  We offer dog boarding, daycare, grooming, training, and water workouts… as well as accomodations for kitties, birds, rabbits, ferrets, and other small critters.  (We’ve even had a chicken and a 4-foot monitor lizard board with us!)  We’re open 24 hours a day and offer parking and transportation to the airport.

I’m so excited to share my photos with you (sorry there are SOOOO many!)…

First off… architectural…

Now the fun stuff… PETS!…

Visit www.nowboardingpets.com for more information… and to see more of my photos!

Happy 1st Birthday Now Boarding!!!

Welcome Back!

23Nov09

Wow!  It’s been nearly a year since my last post and so much has happened since then!  It’s been quite an emotional year.  I’ve moved, gotten engaged, been hospitalized for swine flu, and… sadly… lost my mom to cancer.  Certainly a busy and eventful year.

With all of these experiences, I haven’t had much time for photography or updating my blog.  I apologize to my faithful blog followers and thank you for coming back!  And (yay!) I have seven new posts for you from shoots that I’ve done this year!  AND… I’ll be updating my website with new photos within the next few days!

Thanks again!

Mid-December found me and my boyfriend (Nate) way up “nort” in the chilly U.P.  Yeppers, we hung out with the Yoopers!  We were actually there to shoot the Graduation ceremony for Northern Michigan University, but we ended up making it into a great little vacation.  It was COLD, and really REALLY in the middle of nowhere, but we had fun.  Note: If you’re ever in the Marquette area, we suggest dining at The Vierling, a quaint little downtown brewery.  It was one of the best meals we’ve ever had!  And don’t miss their blueberry beer (with dancing blueberries).

Anyway, we found some time to shoot a few photos… even though it was a million degrees below zero.  So, here goes…

I was footprint happy that afternoon and ended up taking a ton of footprint pictures (here’s just a few)…

This past weekend, my boyfriend (Nate) and I photographed my cousin’s wedding.  And I’m pretty sure the invitation must have said to bring the cutest children and babies you could find.

I couldn’t resist taking a bazillion pictures… I just had to share…
